Four or more rolls dropped off at once will be placed on beautiful new archival grey 400 ft. plastic reels in their own case.

Shipping

We ship and receive film in the mail every day here at the lab and have found the following tips to be use full in getting your film to us in safe and timely manner and returning it to you quickly and without any hidden surprises.

In most cases we suggest you make use of Canada Post to ship your projects to and from the lab, their prices are reasonable you can track the shipments by phone and on their website. The most efficient option is the express post shipment envelope or service; they provide pre paid envelopes in various different sizes, which can be bought right at the post office for either regional or national. For example here in Ontario we can ship to Quebec with a regional pack and it will take one to two business days to get between our major cities, shipping to or from Winnipeg would take two to three days and would need a national pack. While at the post office shipping your stuff to us we suggest you buy and fill out a return pack to include inside your shipment for us to use to return your films to you. Its true sometimes the size and weight of your project will double if its negative and you are ordering a print, so the return pack sometimes needs to be bigger.

If you want to ship with a courier for a next day service the post office does offer priority courier which is faster and more expensive and next day between most major cities, if you might not want the hassle of going to the post office FedEx is the next best bet, we have found them to be totally reliable and fast!

Note to international shipments, we ship and receive packages of film from all over the world if you fill out the forms clearly and provide all the information things should go smoothly. With regards to import tax and other curious charges one finds being added to your bill as your film crosses the border don’t forget to write no commercial value, sample or gift on your project, you will not be breaking the law there is no resale value to your film unless you are George Lucas and he does not shoot real film anymore anyhow.

Payment

At this time Niagara Custom Lab does not accept any plastic payment debits credits or otherwise but we do accept the old fashioned cash money or cheque, personal company or bank issue as well as Canadian postal money orders you can get at the post office. By including advance payment with your shipment of a cheque or money order you are speeding up the return of your project to you. When shipping film from anywhere in Canada:

Calculate your HSTor GST according to your provence.

When calculating the cost of your order if you multiply the total length of your film by the price per foot and then add the tax you're ready to ship.

This is not a payment method or official quote but will give you a good idea what you are in for.

Turnaround

We pride ourselves in lightening turnaround on most orders, depending on the season different runs are more frequent. For example during the school seasons our priority is getting the students their stuff back as quickly as possible so often a process and print negative will only be in the lab a day or two sometimes leaving the same day it arrives. During some festival seasons we are busy finishing up any last minute final prints so our priority would be those deadlines. If you are under a deadline call us and give us a heads up so we make sure your stuff gets where it needs to be on time, that being said although sometimes we get carried away we are not miracle workers and some deadlines are impossible to make and we will tell you that up front.

Rates

Due to increased expenses from our suppliers over the past few years we can no longer simply absorb these losses and have had to raise our prices this year. Still offering the lowest base rates and student rates in the country please refer to the updated price list on this website for our current processing rates.
